Programme overview

The Pelvic Floor department is a multi-disciplinary service which specialises in pelvic floor disorders including bowel, bladder vaginal symptoms. The team includes Consultant surgeons, specialist nurses, pelvic floor physiotherapists and Clinical Scientists.

The department are a tertiary referral centre for triage assessment, bowel and pelvic retraining and also specialise in undertaking ano rectal physiology, endo and Pelvic floor scanning and Proctograms.

Attendees to the weekly MDT session will observe the whole team and hear discussion of the cases of patients who have undergone Diagnostic assessment as well as those patients that have gone through our third and fourth degree tear clinic. The team will discuss difficult patients, queries and will also experience a Joint MDT with urologists, uro-gynaecologists and Surgical MDT.

Attendees to the study days can observe ano rectal physiology ano and pelvic floor scanning. They can also sit in on Bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction clinics as well as procograms if required.

MDT – 12 September

Who should attend

Consultant surgeons physicians, clinical nurse specialists, clinical scientists, GI physiologists, pelvic floor physiotherapists, registrars – all from both urology, uro-gynaecology and colorectal backgrounds.
